So, I can’t help it, I still love the M-Audio gear I won. However, getting this new stuff kind of forced me to get other stuff. While working on a project, I really needed a good reverb. So, I bought Altiverb. Wow. What an amazing product. $550 well spent. The MacPro that I bought to replace the Dual G4 I had that suddenly died needed more RAM. $185 later, I have 6 gigs of Ram. It is happy now. The MacPro decided, twice, to fry a drive in this FireWire enclosure I had, and I needed more space to mix projects. New 500 gig hard drive, $120. EQ tools for ProTools….McDSP’s Project Studio (April special price), $295.

And, finally, pitch correction. Melodyne Plugin. $250.

Am I happy now? Yes….though I would still like to get either Kontakt 3, Massive, or MOTU’s MachFive. But you can’t have everything. I am happier now, though way broke. I think I’ve easily spent the about the worth of the prize I won in stuff to use the prize that I won. But, I am making music that sounds way way better than before.

I bought two packs at Office Depot, and pretty much every single one does work. They fail to complete a burn in Toast on my MacPro, which NEVER has any issues in burning ANYTHING.

Shame on you Memorex. I just wasted $15 on your crap.

I had to upgrade my MacPro. Having lots of addictive virtual instruments was gobbling up RAM, and then that cause the Mac to work harder. So, I bought 4 gigs more of Ram for it from OWC, and now everything is as smooth as silk. I can have a ton of virtual instruments without any processor blips. Amazing. I love this machine.

Just saw that Digidesign has a new update to ProTools 7.4. Some minor bug fixes, still no “official” 10.5.2 support. I’m wondering if it is going to be a 7.5 release that this happens, or maybe they are waiting for Apple to release 10.5.3 or maybe it will take the next coming of Christ for this to happen.

They “official” word is that it’s going to be 1-2 more months, and that was at the beginning of April….

I must say, this is kinda of funny and true.
